Throwback Thursday: Allen Iverson’s 48 pts in Game 1 of 2001 NBA Finals

One of the most electrifying basketball players to ever grace the NBA’s hardwood floors was Allen Iverson. The superstar put his skills on full display in 2001 when he put up 48 points, 6 assists, and 5 steals to lead Philadelphia to their only win of this NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. The game features one of the most popular plays in NBA history of Iverson stepping over Tyronn Lue after knocking down a jump shot late in OT. Although the Sixers never won another game during this series, the most memorable moments came from Philly’s lone star. Iverson was just a thing of beauty to watch on the basketball court.
